Poverty Alleviation

Poverty is rarely a single problem and it rarely responds to a single solution. Our poverty alleviation work combines direct support with the tools households need to build their own way out savings, skills and market access.

On the ground

  • Village savings and table banking groups
  • Small business and market access support
  • Household income diversification planning
  • Transition pathways from emergency support to self reliance

We implement multidimensional interventions aimed at breaking the cycle of poverty, enhancing economic opportunity and fostering resilient, self reliant communities. That means pairing short term support with longer term capability building, so families are not left dependent on aid that will eventually end.

Our ultimate goal is to empower vulnerable individuals and groups to build better futures for themselves and to contribute positively to the development of Kenya as a whole.
